PTO

The Christ Episcopal Church Day School (CECDS) Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is comprised of parents and teachers. The PTO has been organized for the following purposes:

  • The PTO is a parent/teacher volunteer organization committed to maintaining and enhancing the school’s programs for the positive development of the whole child.
  • The PTO has been established as a fundraising group to raise money for the benefit of the school, for the sole purpose of ensuring that the students are provided with a nurturing educational environment for growing spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
  • The PTO will set a fundraising goal on an annual basis and will strive to achieve this goal.

As parents of children at CECDS, you are automatically members of the PTO.

It is both rewarding and fun to be involved with the CECDS PTO, but most importantly, it’s for our children, so don’t be shy. We have jobs big and small, lengthy and short, creative or administrative. Please donate your time and talents towards another great year at CECDS! Some of this year’s activities include:

Harvest Week – Held during school hours the week of Halloween, this event helps students celebrate the season with multi-sensory activities based on a farm theme. The Chairman organizes the activities and many, many volunteers help the children perform them. One-month project.

Pre-K Christmas Program – The Chairman and four volunteers set up, serve, and then clean up the food for a small reception following the performance. This event works best if Nursery parents volunteer to allow the Pre-K parents to enjoy the evening. One-week project.

Spring Fundraiser – TBD

Grandparents/Special Friend Day – The Chairman organizes the event. Several volunteers are needed each day to help with refreshments and registration. Two-week project.

Pre-K Graduation – The Chairman works with four volunteers to set up, serve, and clean up the food for a small reception following the graduation ceremony. Works best if Nursery parents volunteer to allow Pre-K parents to enjoy the evening. One-month project.

Memory Book – Each CECDS student is given a memory book by the PTO at the end of the year. The Chairman organizes the purchase of materials and works with volunteers to create the memory books. The volunteers include one to two people from each class who are responsible for taking digital pictures at all CECDS events of each child in that class. One-year project.
