Does my child need to be toilet trained?
Yes. Children must be toilet trained before entering our program. We understand that young children will have accidents and are prepared to help children if this occurs. Our focus is to involve children in classroom activities and feel that toilet training is a parental responsibility.
How many students are there per class?
Class sizes are kept small to ensure a nurturing environment where every student gets the individual attention needed. Our Nursery class ratios are 1:6 and our Pre-K ratios are 1:10.
Are the teachers experienced?
There is great diversity among the faculty both in their background and experience. All of our teachers have a bachelor’s degree as do many of our assistants. All staff are required to be CPR and First Aid certified and to continue their early childhood education through a variety of classes and workshops.
When should I apply?
You should apply in January for September enrollment. Children must be 3 years old (for Nursery) or 4 years old (for Pre-K) on or before September 1 of the year in which the child will attend CECDS.
What time does school start and end?
The school operates from 9:15 am – 3:15 pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Morning classes begin at 9:15 am and dismiss at 12:15 pm.
Is there a parishioner discount?
Yes. To qualify for the parishioner discount, Christ Church Parish, Kent Island has established the following guidelines:
- Applicant must be a faithful parishioner in good standing for at least three months
- Applicant must be known to the treasurer by contributing to a financial pledge commitment
Is there tuition assistance?
Limited tuition assistance is available. You can obtain applications for and information about tuition assistance from the school office. Applications need to be completed and post-marked by April 1.

We have open houses in January, February, and March. However, you can take a virtual tour now.
